How giving cards work
A giving card is the purchasing of a charitable gift balance that can then be applied to any nonprofit cause on Mightycause. A code is created that is associated with the gift balance, and acts as a card number when you make a donation.
Tax deductibility
The point of transaction, when a giving card is purchased, is the charitable contribution. The nonprofit or nonprofits that the giving card value is then applied to will receive the donation as a charitable contribution.
"I want to activate a giving card code"
When you enter a checkout page for making a donation, or from a cart, there will be a giving card option within the 'payment method' dropdown. A card number field will appear where you can enter your giving card code. Enter your billing address as you normally would.
