About Me
Hey there! Welcome to my fundraising page. For those who don't know me, my name is Sam Wheeler and I've been an avid runner for as long as I can remember. During college I would run daily anywhere from 8-13 miles, however I've cut that back to ~9 miles, four times a week (getting old!). I'm a 24 year old professional working in Boston at Fidelity Investments. I live with two close friends in South Boston, although I find myself visiting my parents many Sundays in Southborough, MA.
I am excited to follow in my mom's footsteps in running my first marathon in Boston, and to be able to do something that I love for a charitable cause. I'm proud to announce I'll be fundraising for the Hopkinton Senior Center. Hopkinton has a special place in my heart as I've grown up running in Hopkinton State Park, a short jog from my childhood home. My goal is to raise $5000 minimum. I would be grateful for your donation to this worthy cause.
More information about my charity -
The Hopkinton Senior Center will receive 2020 Boston Marathon Invitational Entries for marathon runners to fundraise for the many activities, and transportation & nutrition programs that make the Center a vibrant part of the community of Hopkinton. I am happy to say that we have very enthusiastic, hard-working team members who have been offered the opportunity to run the prestigious marathon.
The Senior Center primarily serves the needs of senior citizens, but is open to all ages to benefit from its many programs. The Senior Center houses a full commercial kitchen, so it is able to provide a made-from-scratch luncheon meal every weekday.
As a plus, the Senior Center is located adjacent to the senior housing complex making it easily accessible to many of the town's senior citizens. Donations go a long way to help the dedicated staff and many volunteers make the Hopkinton Senior Center seem like a 'home away from home' rather than a 'place to go'.
Thank you to those who have supported us in the past. And thank you for considering donating to us by visiting this page.
