" We must combine the toughness of the serpent with the softness of the dove, a tough mind and a tender heart. " Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dove (nka Lily) is a little, 12 lb dog, found filthy, emaciated and very frightened on busy Highway 250 in West Virginia. Her coat was overgrown and badly matted with large clumps of feces on her rear and painful matting all over. She had a pervasive skin infection and badly infected ears. Lily- Dove was taken to a WV shelter with a low adoption rate, especially for dogs with special needs. We've taken her in to rescue. She's been de-matted and had a much needed haircut. She's had a soothing bath and treatment for her infected ears and skin. She has had a dental procedure as well.
As a small, all volunteer rescue we're doing all we can to help this sweet little dog and make the rest of her life the best of her life. She's completely blind in one eye, and has a treatable cataract in the other. The estimated cost for cataract surgery to restore some vision in one eye is between $2,500 and $3,500. Lily-Dove is mostly miniature schnauzer, whatever else she is, Lily-Dove is gentle, sweet and loving. She's blossoming with good medical care, good food and human affection and attention. Please help us give Lily- Dove the chance to see her doggy companions and the people who are taking such good care of her. Please donate to the fund for her cataract surgery. Thank you.
