One of the fall outs of economic downturns, is that people lose their homes and leave their pets behind. The result is bands of cats that form a colony at certain locations. They depend on a volunteer colony cat feeder who puts food out two times a day, fresh water, and traps unsterilized cats, gets them surgeries (passion for paws subsidizes the surgery), and the cats are returned to their colony. If you can chip in the cost of a few cans of cat food or a bag of cat food, that would really help. This process really reduces overbreeding and greatly reduces suffering. The life of a homeless cat is often just a few years due to parasites, getting hit by cars and other hazards.
