The GPG Team has done everything possible to make sure that our small but mighty, and much, much needed non-profit can stay afloat during this pandemic. The reality is that we have always cared about the health and safety of our community. In 2012, the East Side Health District surveyed residents to identify their largest health concerns. #3 on that list was roaming/stray dogs. The landscape in our community is much, much different now thanks to our work in this forgotten community. We are needed now more than ever as our community will be disproportionately negatively affected by this virus.
The coronavirus has placed a signficant burden on our organization. Programming has been cut. Staffing reduced. We've had to develop alternative methods to continue to provide critical services to community members, rescue and adopt out pets, and support fosters all while practicing physical/social distancing. And the beautiful new facility we were scheduled to open March 26th sits dark.
Like most non-profits, especially rescues, monetary donations are down. Way down. Yes we’re taking advantage of federal support that’s applicable, but that alone isn’t enough.
GPG staff and volunteers are resourceful and creative and they continue to find ways to keep moving forward. By donating to the National House Pawty you’ll be helping to make sure we can continue our mission through this pandemic, and come out even stronger on the other side.
I hope you’ll consider a donation if you can. ❤️
