Nazis and white supremacists have plans to gather this month in the Bay Area of California, typically an oasis of diversity. We all saw what happened in Charlottesville and we can't let this happen again. Our First Amendment of the United States does not allow us to deny American Nazis and KKK members their right to free speech. Our morality and decency does not allow us to ignore them. Fighting violence with violence only allows white supremacists and those who support them to minimize their evil and win in the court of public approval. Attending their rallies only gives them the media and public attention they crave. We MUST protect our families, our communities and our nation and we must do it NOW. We have an answer.
Bay Area residents who want to take a stand against this hate and evil (and those Americans from outside of the Bay Area who want to join them) will be holding peace gatherings at locations AWAY from the Nazi gatherings. They will make their voice heard without risking violent confrontation.
And we want to do more because we need to do more to stop the spread of this hateful disease. We are asking you to "Adopt a Nazi" by donating IN ANY AMOUNT on behalf of each individual who shows up to rally for hate. Funding causes that stop the hatred is the opposite of what Nazis are wanting to have happen and has shown itself to be an effective tool in combating white supremacy goals. You can donate on a per person basis ( such as 10 cents for each Nazi in attendance) or you can donate a lump sum (ANY amount is appreciated, no matter how big or small we value your voice).
The charity I have chosen is Life After Hate, a non-profit founded by a former white supremacist who turned his life around at the birth of his first child. Life After Hate works to bring white supremacists out of the movement through research, education, outreach and consulting. This is front line action to make our world a safer, freer place for all of us.
