A Garden With Wings

We opened our butterfly house and pollinator garden exhibition in 2016, with a couple of simple goals: teach visitors about butterflies and the importance of pollinators, and inspire them to plant pollinator habitat plants in their own landscapes. In only two months, our "garden with wings" exhibition attracted twice our previous number of annual garden visitors. The message of pollinator conservation was not only timely, but well received! Since then, our summer audience has continued to grow each year. In 2017, Cobb Travel and Tourism awarded the Garden with Wings Butterfly House the SPOT ON Award for Best Event that year.

Metamorphosis Happens!

We continue to grow, and pollinator education is just as important as ever, maybe more so. To keep up with the increasing demand and interest, we need to expand! We need a bigger butterfly house, more plants, and, of course, more butterflies! We will be recruiting more volunteers to serve as Butterfly Ambassadors and engage our visitors, summer campers, teachers and garden enthusiasts.

Your donation on Giving Tuesday, or as we are calling it - Pollinator Tuesday, will make a meaningful and measurable impact! Each butterfly costs nearly $10 - we will purchase hundreds. Pollinator habitat plants cost between $5 and $30 each - we need dozens. The upgrades to the butterfly house structure will cost thousands...BUT, what matters most is not the total project cost, but your individual participation.
