Help Chisholm Leadership Academy Build a New Table

It has been my honor to serve as a founding board member of Chisholm Leadership Academy (CLA), an organization committed to the leadership development of girls of color. Our mission is centered around increasing the number of girls of color in positions of civic leadership.  CLA stands a part from other organizations as we are focused on culturally competent civic education and development, allowing girls of color to show up as their full selves. Despite the ongoing pandemic we managed to continue informative and culturally reflective programming centering the voices and experiences of women of color.  Support for the organization will allow for expanded programming in the new year.  Shirley Chisholm once said “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring in a folding chair.” Well CLA is building a new table.
