Donate to Support Boo's Surgery to Remove her Eye

Meet Boo! 

Boo was recently rescued from a bad neglect situation where she had been left outdoors in the freezing cold.  She was living with six other rabbits crammed into filthy cages with minimal to no protection from the weather, occasional pelleted food, either a small amount of dirty water to drink or a filthy dry bowl. 

These rabbits had no out time or social interaction.

AARR was compelled to rescue these rabbits and bring them to safety from this terrible situation.  It was not easy to wrest these rabbits from their negligent owner, but with persistence, we succeeded. We were able to safely take them in, thanks to a kind volunteer who opened her home up to all these rabbits.

All the rabbits were malnourished, skinny, hungry, and thirsty. They ate and drank like crazy, but Boo was different, and the worst off as we discovered a lesion in her eye. She was diagnosed with  E. Cuniculi and ended up needing special care. Sure enough, the lesion had developed to the point that it ruptured and needed to come out (warning: graphic photos below).

When that happened, AARR was on the phone immediately to arrange an appointment and transport to our skilled rabbit surgeon. Poor Boo had her eye surgically removed the next day.

As you can see from the photos further below, Boo has recovered and adjusted very well despite her terrible ordeal and she has been a real warrior.  She is already doing binkies and zoomies around as if nothing happened. Boo's diagnostics, meds, and surgery cost well over $2,000.
