The Richfield-Bloomington B.U.I.L.D. Foundation was initially founded in December 1985 and
reactivated in December 2023 to be the financial arm for the Richfield-Bloomington Alumni Chapter
of Kappa Alpha Psi. For obvious reasons, the Chapter has 501 c7 status and the Foundation has 501 c3
status (501(c)(3) organizations focus on charitable causes, while 501(c)(7) nonprofits provide social or
recreational opportunities.).
The Rich
field-Bloomington (MN) Alumni B.U.I.L.D Foundation, Inc. exists to encourage and
support the efforts of the following Outreach Programs (Guide Right, Community Awareness,
Scholarship, Public Relations, and Pan-Hellenic) of the Richfield-Bloomington (MN) Alumni Chapter
of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. The B.U.I.L.D Foundation also exists to support various individuals,
community organizations, and programs in the Twin Cities metro area.
The purpose of the Foundation shall be to support the Guide Right, Scholarship and Community
Service activities of the Richfield-Bloomington (MN) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity, Incorporated and other organizations with similar community service goals. The
Foundation shall contribute to the advancement and improvements of the quality of life in its area
of operation and within the Twin Cities metro community by providing support for various
individuals, community organizations, and programs. The Foundation shall conduct and engage in
such cultural, humanitarian, educational, community services, and other activities that contribute to
and allow for the fulfillment of its purpose and objectives. The Foundation will not accept
invitations nor participate in any activities that are discriminatory or exclusionary based simply on
race, color, religion, national origin, or sex.
The objectives of the Foundation shall be to:
1. To provide a cost effective and tax efficient way for donors to invest in our community.
2. To partner with other individuals and organizations, such as corporations, institutions,
foundations, and governmental agencies, to promote goals, aims, and objectives
which encourage cultural enrichment, personal development, and scholarship.
3. To foster and promote community wide activities that are intended to educate and build
human capacity, thereby improving the quality of life for the residents in our community.
4. To aid, support and assist with gifts, contributions, activities, and opportunities that raise the
economic, educational, and social levels of our community and its residents.
