Mental Health matters. Even if everything else in your life seems ok you really don’t have anything without your peace of mind. Your wellbeing depends on your mental state. Your success depends on your mental health and your ability to maintain it. There are skills to learn in order to achieve prosperity and balance in life but there’s no “one size fits all” approach. Recovery from Mental Illness is specific to everyone who suffers from it and finding out what works is an arduous process. It takes time and patience and a willingness to accept help from others. Mental Illness is terrible and relentless but it can be overcome.
JAK’s Place exists to assist people in their recovery from mental illness. We offer support groups and activities free of charge. We have something for everyone from Art Group to Tai Chi. We serve a weekly meal on Tuesdays (also free of charge) and partner with other local agencies to provide services to those in need. We have a wonderful facility and dedicated staff and volunteers ready to assist anyone who comes in our door. We have been a beacon in the community since 2006 and continue to expand and innovate in order to serve our participants and welcome new people. Sadly we will never run out of clients in need as mental illness persists across all economic and social boundaries. JAK’s Place is a safe place, free of pressure and judgement.
In order to fulfill our mission we need to be able to maintain our property and insure it. We need to pay our dedicated staff for their time and effort and to be able to invest in new ventures that serve new clients and populations. In short we need unrestricted funds to keep the doors open. As we start to recover after Covid-19 we can only expect more people walking in our doors. Your generous donation to JAK’s Place ensures that we are adequately staffed and fully operational.
