Nate's YMCA Fundraiser

I have lost track of how many years I have been part of the YMCA Turkey Trot, but it is well over 10 at this point. The photo with the pumpkin pie hat was taken during the virtual Turkey Trot in 2020, when even a pandemic could not stop the tradition.

Since joining the YMCA of the Roses just a few months ago, I have been surprised by the wide range of programs and services we offer. Like many people, I once thought of the Y primarily as a gym. I have quickly learned it is so much more. Every day, I see the impact it has across our community through programs that support health, connection, and belonging.

The Turkey Trot is just one piece of that impact. It is a fun and meaningful tradition, but it also supports our LIVESTRONG program, which provides cancer survivors with a supportive community and resources to regain strength and confidence in their lives. Seeing programs like this has given me a whole new appreciation for the work we do.
