Health and wellbeing, economic security, and social connections are among the cornerstones for successful aging, yet these are areas in which many LGBTQ elders face substantial barriers–stemming from current discrimination as well as the accumulation of a lifetime of legal and structural discrimination, social stigma, and isolation.
ZAMI NOBLA is working hard to complete the renovation of the Biggers House- a house that will provide permanent, affordable, safe, accessible, and supportive housing for two Black lesbian elders living on fixed incomes. We are aware that many elders are not food secure and have planted four raised beds and an in-ground garden at the Biggers House ensuring nutritious vegetables toxin-free.
We appreciate your help in building sustainable support systems for aging lesbians. Our vision is a just and equitable world where every elder is treated with respect and dignity.
ZAMI NOBLA cannot do this work alone and your continuing support guarantees our capacity to assist the most vulnerable among us.
