Founded in 2012, 3D Girls, Inc. was established with the intention of providing academic and cultural enrichment to adolescent girls in the metro-Atlanta area. The mission of 3D Girls, Inc. is to educate and empower young women to be advocates for themselves and their families. We are able to fulfill this mission through three programs that promote the advancement of their social and emotional health. According to experts, “teaching coping skills at an early age and promoting emotional and social connectedness” helps to enhance a sense of belonging and support. The L.E.A.G.U.E. (Ladies Empowering Adolescent Girls Using Exposure). This school-based program that provides girls K-12 with a group mentoring experiences. The L.E.A.G.U.E. provides a global network of professional women working collaboratively to impact girls. In addition to The L.E.A.G.U.E., 3D Girls, Inc. has two other programs that support young women's social, emotional and physical health. Our T.E.A.M. Project program is designed to empower young mothers before, during, and after their transition into motherhood. We offer a wide variety of research-based educational resources that enhances our participants' knowledge of financial literacy, technical and career training, along with access to health and wellness resources for their families. Second, our D.R.I.P.S. (Discovering Realities in Painting & STEM) came into fruition as a means of gathering individuals to engage in activities that bring awareness to social and emotional wellness. We use group painting classes to spread our mission, while building a network that cultivates ‘creative healing’. In each session, we extend access to life coaching and clinical mental health resources. Overall, our vision is to create a platform for young women to become role models for their families while empowering them to develop their own potential as capable, self-sufficient citizens of our society.
