Bellville Dog Park Finnigan's Run is at 641 St. Rt. 97 West, Bellville, Ohio 44813

raised by 2 people

$5,000 goal

We have more dog families than ever before.  Dogs reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourages exercise, and playfulness, and can lower your blood pressure and even improve your cardiovascular health.

Five years ago, we had a resident survey showing that most of our residents were interested in creating a dog park but didn't have the funds to cover the expense of the park nor the volunteers to care for it.  Fast forward to today and the James Gorman Family, the Beveridge Family and many other donors have stepped up  to make it possible and created this wonderful space for everyone to enjoy.  Now we have a dedicated committee (Jerry Simon, Judy Golden, Kenzie Golden and Teri Brenkus)  to keep the dog park safe and nice!

The Bellville Dog Park Finnigan’s Run was dedicated October 23, 2022, and named after Finnegan, a beloved golden retriever who belong to Lyle & Yvonne Beveridge. Lyle was born in Butler in 1946 and spent the majority of his life in the Clear Fork Valley.  Lyle and Finnigan (Finn) loved to run in the woods or in 5k races and anywhere humans and dogs were permitted to roam and run together. Lyle took great care of Finn just as he did his family and friends.  He is fondly remembered and missed by all those who knew him. His message to us was: "Press On" from Philippines 3:13-14. Finnigan's Run is named in loving memory of Lyle and the special relationships we create with all creatures.

The funds raised will go toward maintaining the park and adding different fun features.

Contact Mayor Brenkus (419-886-2245 Ext. 5)  for more information :)  THANK YOU!!
