I want to help the NOAH Project unlock $25,000 in matching funds!

$3,640

raised by 36 people

$2,500 goal

How many times have you seen a homeless person sleeping in the streets? Have you wondered where they eat, or if they get medical and dental care? How do they get their haircut? Have you wondered where they receive their mail? Have you ever questioned where that homeless person got that bike or how they get off the streets into permanent housing? You probably never wondered where they go to express their art abilities, or if there would be an exhibit of that work in a gallery. But there is and they do.

The answer to all the above and much much much more is found at The NOAH Project in the center of the city of Detroit. Please help them continue their very important work.

In the next few days, NOAH must raise $50,000 to match the $50,000 NOAH earned last year through the Art Van Challenge. When Art Van closed so did that challenge. Raising that money is now up to us - to you and to me.

I’m on the board that serves NOAH. I know personally the great work they are doing - work that grew from simply serving some sandwiches 40+ years ago to the truly exceptional program it is today.

I helped make some of those sandwiches 40+ years ago. I’m pleading for you to help The NOAH Project, our NOAH Project TODAY - right now.   PLEASE HELP. When you do you will feel a little better about the world and our part in it.

Throughout the pandemic, without pause, NOAH continues to serve. This is our opportunity to help NOAH. Thank You.

The mission of the NOAH Project is to empower low income and homeless Detroiters to achieve stability by serving as the first step on the journey to self-sufficiency.

The NOAH Project operates a community center in downtown Detroit for homeless individuals including those living on the streets. We believe that change comes through positive, trusting relationships and so at the center, we start building trust by accepting who each individual is. When acceptance is combined with compassion and honesty, it builds trust and a sense of family for people so they have the support necessary to change and grow. We support this change and growth by offering lunch four days a week, social services, physical health counseling, empowerment-based programming, and emergency needs and by helping individuals become ready for housing.

All of our services are built on our mission and core values, which are to:

- Welcome all people with hospitality, recognize their dignity, and practice acceptance

- Build long-term trusting relationships

- Patiently provide services with a holistic approach

- Support personal growth through empowerment

Plus if we raise $25,000 by September 25th, we will get a matching grant of an additional $25,000! Can you please help us reach that goal?
