Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to read my Harbor Humane Society story. Last February 2, 2019, we were introduced to Harbor Humane in West Olive, Michigan,  when we adopted this gorgeous guy named Captain Shelby, formerly known as Biscuit. He joined Team Irvine and is pretty near the most perfect dog ever! Sadly, Captain Shelby, like thousands of other shelter dogs, especially from the south, is heartworm positive. Harbor Humane generously covers the cost of this expensive treatment!  This past February, I completed orientation and started to volunteer at Harbor. One of my favorite assignments was a Bissell Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters event. It was wonderful when a family connected with a dog and took it home to love and cuddle. I was so excited to do the dog training in order to walk the dogs,  but COVID-19 brought all programs, classes, volunteering and FUNDRAISERS, to a screeching halt. However, Harbor Humane is up and running, taking in animals as strays, owner surrenders, and from other shelters. I can’t wait to get back to volunteering because everyone that works there is so appreciative, friendly, and sincere in their work with cats and dogs. Harbor Humane Society has an incredibly impressive community of staff, foster families, adopters, donors, and many others. Today I’m asking you to contribute any amount that makes your heart sing as much as mine does when I get that loving look from Captain Shelby and all the other pups just a waitin’ for their furever home. Your donation will help the wonderful staff continue their important work to save cats and dogs. Thank you and let the house pawty begin with your donation to Harbor Humane!
