Para mi Gente (for my people) is a fundraiser for El Refugio organized by GorditasATL in celebration of Mexican Independence Day on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 968 Memorial Dr. SE (Home Grown) from 5 - 8 p.m.

We are here to celebrate immigrants, support people detained at Stewart Detention Center (SDC) and their loved ones, and end immigration detention!
Funds raised will go toward commissary deposits so a person in detention can call a loved one; books for people in detention; free; overnight lodging for people visiting loved ones at SDC; financial support for families impacted by detention and deportation; plane and bus tickets for people coming out of SDC; and advocacy to SHUT DOWN SDC and END IMMIGRATION DETENTION!
People detained at SDC tell us they feel isolated, alone, and forgotten. Immigration detention strips people of their dignity. With your donation, you give a little of that dignity back.
