NEVER GIVE UP

Update posted 4 years ago

We are currently working on a new facility for our current students. Our vision is to empower over 50 kids in our community of Lake Elsinore to be kind and confident in the face of adversity.  We can do so with your help. Our goal is to continue showing the principle of gratitude to our students. We are grateful to be at this moment; its all for the kids.

We believe in empowering children to be kind, confident, and self-aware.

And we know how to help build resilience.

Children around the world are facing uncertain circumstances that can destroy confidence and identity. We need a solution.

This winter, KickFit Foundation is raising $45,000 to help 50 children, each student for one year and to add state of the art equipment to their new facility.

The KickFit Foundation is forming young leaders through The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, exercise, mixed martial arts, mentoring and meditation.

With your help, we have the opportunity to empower children to be kind, confident, and self-aware in the face of adversity.

The KickFit Foundation is a leading youth mentoring nonprofit in the Temecula Valley.  Since 2017, we have empowered kids of all ages with a physical outlet and a newfound mental fortitude that they need to handle tough situations.

What is the KickFit Foundation Youth Mentoring program?

First, our students are taught to embody the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. Hence, KickFit Foundation believes that all kids should be taught these effective habits alongside martial arts. In this case  the classes  help children gain mental, physical, and overall emotional toughness. Therefore, as a guide, KickFit incorporates 7 Forms of Expressions. Each expression includes a principal and sets of moves and attitudes. As a result, each students’ objective is to earn the 7 colors of the KickFit color band system.

Why now?

We are at a time where children are facing great adversity in many forms. Currently, more teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease. Each day in our nation, there are an average of 3,069  daily attempts by young people grades 9-12.  Many of these attempts happen after school hours.

Also, 2 out of 5 students have reported being bullied at least once in a school year. As cyber bullying attacks are increasing, many young people find themselves diagnosed with mental health disorders. In extreme cases, the isolation and intimidation of a youth creates dangerous situations that can cause harm to others and society.

Solution

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People will help your child:

  • learn how to take initiative.
  • develop a mission, vision, and values.
  • learn how to balance key priorities.
  • improve interpersonal communication.
  • learn how to leverage creative collaboration.
  • apply principles for achieving a balanced life.

How Martial Arts will benefit your child:

  • They focus on individual growth, not on team competition.
  • They work toward specific goals.
  • Routines are broken down into manageable chunks.
  • They emphasize self-control and concentration.
  • They help with coordination.
  • They provide structure.
  • They’re a safe way for kids to get out extra energy.
  • It’s an accepting environment.
  • They’re cool.

Lots of families say martial arts help boost their kids’ self-control and focus. Some research supports this, says Kimberley D. Lakes, Ph.D., of the Pediatric Exercise and Genomics Research Center at the University of California, Irvine.
