Your financial contribution helps us provide need-based scholarships, keep tuition costs low, purchase instruments, and to offset travel expenses. 

In a time when JCPS has gutted musical education funding within even schools designated as arts schools, The Louisville Leopard Percussionists exists as a program allowing children the enrichment of music — how it engages the whole child: mind, body and spirit, and additionally encourages community, musicianship and expression. Personally having kids that lost their music program in elementary school and having found the Leopards (it's my kids' 7th year with the group) watching the impact and growth in my kids with this program can't be understated, and our gratitude can't be described. This program has put so much into my kids' spirits and given them amazing opportunities and experiences: help us give back to them so they can continue to do the same for other children.

Last year over 375 7-18 year old kids participated in Leopard programs from 40 zip codes and 95 different schools in the Louisville area. For over three decades of rhythm, passion, and percussion - The Louisville Leopard Percussionists have been hitting the stage and providing a musical experience that some children would not get to experience any other way. No one could have imagined that in 1993 after accidentally stumbling on some small percussion instruments in a closet, The Leopards would become a world-renowned kids' music ensemble powerhouse. From local venues to national showcases, these young percussionists prove that age is no barrier to brilliance, captivating hearts and leaving an indelible mark on the world of youth percussion ensembles.

Through LLP programs, kids learn to play music and care for the instruments, but they also learn how to work hard together and experience the success of that hard work. They learn not only music, but how to support and lift each other up. They learn what it means to represent their community in a positive way and gain self-confidence through the process. 

Every year, LLP holds their biggest performance called "The BiG GiG" at The Brown Theatre. We invite you to come see us May 8th of 2027 for The BiG GiG and experience The Louisville Leopard Percussionists for yourself!
