Giving Kitchen might be my home, but it's also my heart.

My name is Jen and I am one of Giving Kitchen's (GK's) co-founders. It was the mind-blowing and life changing community response to my late husband, Ryan Hidinger's, cancer diagnosis in 2013, that inspired the formation of GK and now, I have the honor of working full-time as GK's Marketing & Communications Director.  So, while GK might be my professional home, it's also part of my heart. I am here to help food service workers in crisis by becoming a proud personal fundraiser during this years Give Atlanta Challenge.

Amidst the chaos and heartache of 2020, as food service workers face unprecedented challenges, GK continues to hear from our community, "How can I help?"

This is where I need your help.

Mission

Giving Kitchen (GK) provides emergency assistance to food service workers in crisis through financial support and a network of community resources.

So far in 2020, Giving Kitchen has served over 2,256 food service workers in crisis through financial assistance and our Stability Network resources. Of clients surveyed since inception, 75% reported that the help Giving Kitchen gave prevented a utility disconnection in their home, while 70% reported that GK helped prevent an eviction.

Contributions from YOU are preventing homelessness, keeping the lights on, and keeping hope alive for food service workers throughout Georgia.
