A lack of a stable, alcohol and drug free living environment can be a serious obstacle to sustained sobriety. Destructive living environments can derail recovery for even highly motivated individuals. Sober living houses provide an alcohol and drug free living environment for those working to abstain from alcohol and drugs.
The Sobriety Foundation is committed to helping adults with substance use disorders (SUD) find successful, sustained recovery from drug or alcohol abuse and/or dependence. Sobriety Foundation helps provide a safe transitional space after completion of SUD treatment before a full return to independent living or an alternative to residential treatment for clients who may need more than out-patient services. Our program also assists clients who are in need of housing or are in a living situation that is detrimental to their sobriety.
Sober living is a type of informal treatment for substance use disorders. These programs are established in a house occupied with people in recovery from abuse of alcohol and other drugs.
The primary feature associated with sober living is the social support created within the house. People with social support groups that discourage substance use are more likely to end use and have longer periods of recovery.
Services are geared toward building social capital; developing peer, social, and community supports; transitioning into education or employment; and family reunification
The Sobriety Foundation works to provide sober housing assistance to financially disadvantaged individuals and their families living in Utah.
We collaborate with charitable donors and recovery services to provide substance use education, resources, and community support.
We don't hold any illusions of changing the world. But maybe, just maybe, we're helping someone else change his or her life a little bit for the better, even if it just means giving someone a safe place to live.
Please support The Sobriety Foundation by making a donation today! You never know how much your donation can change the life of an individual. Thank you for your support.
