Hi! My name is Mary Tankersley and I love to climb rocks! I also happen to be missing a portion of my leg. A year and a half ago, I was introduced to the world of adaptive rock climbing both recreationally and competitively. Last year was my first season I competed and I went all in! I placed third at my first National competition and my first International competition, in Austin and Salt Lake City, respectively. I traveled across the world to Austria and Switzerland where I competed and learned a lot. Departing Europe with loads of experiences and new goals, my sights were already set on the 2024 competition season. I am looking forward to applying what I learned last year to this season.

To (financially and physically) prepare for the competitions, I am taking on the challenge to climb the height of the famous El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, a total distance of 3000 vertical feet, in one month! That means I will climb 55 routes at my home gym this month! All funds will go to Catalyst Sports' Climbing Team as we head to the USA Paraclimbing National Championships in Gaithersburg, MD! We are fundraising to help support the team with entry fees, lodging, and transportation at nationals. I am so thankful to Catalyst for the support they offer and the work they do for their communities. Will you help us reach our goal?
