I have been here in Georgia as refugee for 5 years and I was resettled by New American Pathways, which was called RRISA before. When we were new here, we weren’t sure of how everything works. I’ve been grateful to all the staff here who helped me and my family with so much in learning how to live in America, from finding us housing to finding jobs. The help we received was really appreciated, which made our life very easy as we transitioned to our new country.
I wanted to work with refugee families, so I started volunteering to help children in my temple to learn Nepali language. I also trained Nepali women on a sewing and stitching program to help them earn their own income. Now, I am working with refugee families as a Family Support Liaison staff member at New American Pathways. I feel so grateful to be able to play a small part in our mission to Help Refugees and Georgia Thrive. Now, more than ever, we need people to come alongside us. If you believe that refugees should be and ARE welcome in Georgia, join me in supporting New AP!
