Step Up BIG Detroit! is an opportunity to make a commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion [JEDI] in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Whether you’re an individual, corporation, foundation or group, you believe that every child should be provided with what they need to achieve their full potential. Through a social justice lens we commit to cultivating a safe space to learn about inequities, bias and privilege; lean into empathy, not sympathy; and, move into action by donating, volunteering, mentoring and advocating for our youth.

Since our founding in 1974, the tenets of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion have been embedded in the Big Brothers Big Sisters’ DNA and part of our origin story. JEDI is not part of our work, it is our work. JEDI is youth empowerment and equity work. It is not about blaming or shaming anyone.
