I have been helping to fight cancer and support families battling the disease since 2009. Susan joined in with me in 2021. Togeather we have been raising moeny to support cancer research and programs for families with cancer. We have both been affected by cancer by family members that have been diagnosed with cancer. We have lost love ones and family members that were diagnosed with cancer. And we have family members and friends that are in remission and have been for an extended amount of time. That extended remission is due to cancer research.
I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in 2021. My cancer was not on top of the skin which is usually how malanoma is found. Mine was hiding behind a fatty tumor at my achiles tendon. Because research found an immunotherapy drug, Keytruda, I am in remission. 28 rounds of Keytruda, 20 round of radiation and surgey is the reason I am in remission. Keytruda is currently being used to treat several cancers and research is continuing to determine if there are other cancers it will help fight.
