Why I’m Personally Showing Up for the Y

As CEO, I talk about the YMCA’s mission a lot. The good news is—I don’t have to make any of it up.

I see the Y’s impact every day. I see it in kids who are building confidence and discovering their potential. In families who find support when they need it most. In older adults who find connection, purpose, and community.

The Y is more than a gym or a program provider. It’s a place where people belong, where they grow, and where they’re reminded they matter.

That’s why I’m raising funds through Give Local York. Not because anyone loves being asked, but because I know firsthand what those dollars make possible.

Every gift helps ensure that YMCA programs and services are accessible to those who need them most. It opens doors. It creates opportunity. It strengthens families. And it builds a healthier, more connected York County.

I’m proud to serve as CEO, but this effort isn’t about me. It’s about making sure the Y can continue showing up—for every child, every family, and every individual who counts on us.
