In June of this year I broke my Achilles Tendon and unfortunately I'm not able to hike for a very long time. I'm told it will take one year to hike even close to how I'm accustomed and as much as two years before I can carry a backpack again.
I miss my hiking friends and the trails and mountains more than you can ever imagine.
I normally donate as much of my time and energy as I can to this wonderful trail and organization but this summer, I have been severely limited.
My dear friend Jared is in town from Nebraska and he will be running the Marlette 50K on Sunday August 15th. That's 31 miles in case you were wondering.
I will be there rooting him on at the start and finish and I'm asking for your help in honor of this feat and him meeting his goal.
Will you help me support my beloved Tahoe Rim Trail with a donation. I'm hoping you can donate $50 in honor of Jared's 50k run. How about $31, a dollar for each mile. Be creative! How about 31% of $50. Maybe 31 x $50? What would that be? $1,550? Honestly, any amount is appreciated.
My goal is to raise $500 but I'd be happy with any amount.
As a special bonus, the first 10 people donating $50 or more will receive one of my handmade hike bracelets. Contact me for details! It is a braided bracelet made with Tahoe blue cord and a hiking boot charm.
Thank you for your donations and for helping me keep the Tahoe Rim Trail in tip top condition for future hikers and cyclists.
