FACT: Disciplinary problems and high truancy and dropout rates are increasingly affecting students academic achievement.

FACT: The poverty rate for dropouts is 2x as high as those who finish

FACT: OVER 80% of the incarcerated population dropped out of high school

FACT: Family and Restorative Conferencing, based on centuries-old conflict resolution techniques being found effective in remediating truancy and school dropout, while keeping kids safe and empowering a climate of safety within the school

FACT: Students who drop out of school can be restored through adult basic education and contextualized literacy leading to career preparedness and apprenticeships.

FACT: The best way to seriously reduce incarceration is to provide education and social intervention services to young people. 

FACT: Emerging Ministry is the 501c3 nonprofit avenue for the Cookman Beloved Community Baptist Church, we committed to restorative practices (family group decision making, circles, and restorative circles), and targeted education completion toward employment in construction or allied health for persons who have dropped out of high school (contextualized literacy)
