If you want to skip my more detailed story with the reason this cause is important to me and simply donate away:
1. Let’s raise $10,000 for Rescue Pit

In the Winter of 2013 I was volunteering daily at an animal shelter to fill my winter break with something positive and, in doing so, I developed a strong attachment to a pitbull who was there. Had I been in a place in my life to adopt, Pepper would have come home with me. The staff said I was the first male she had been willing to let take her on walks. After a couple of visits she would perk up when she saw me. Sadly, the shelter where I used to volunteer did not train their volunteers well and their staff failed Pepper. She was the victim of a bad situation. I support Rescue Pit because, had Pepper gone to them instead of this particular shelter, I know they would have found Pepper a forever home and my furry friend would still be enjoying life.

I love seeing all of the work Rescue Pit does to give a safe and supportive home to these dogs during the time leading up to finding their forever home and in the selection of their forever home. I am always amazed by how much good this organization does for these dogs who are so often mistreated and misunderstood. They have created such a devoted and caring team of volunteers to help these pups and I am hoping that by reaching my goal of $800 I can help another dog find a loving home.
