Help Teaghan Fletcher Build a Better World

This year, I will be traveling with Builders Beyond Borders (B3), to Guatemala

Builders Beyond Borders, is a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to globally, and locally, make a difference in many communities. Throughout the fall, I will volunteer locally, participating in many different activities to help support our community. Then, in February, I will travel alongside around 20 of my teammates to Guatemala, to complete a service project in a community in need there. Although I am not sure of the details of our project quite yet, I am extremely excited to be traveling with B3, and my team; Amanacer, for another year! I will update this page as soon as I find out where I'm travelling, but as of right now, it is looking as though we will be working in a indigenous community!

The past two years I have travelled to both Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic to build much needed structures for communities in need. In the Dominican Republic, my team and I built latrines for a preschool to educate them on sanitation, and to offer them another latrine in a community where five families would share a single one. In Costa Rica, my team and I built a community center, for a small farming community to use for classes, and community gatherings. Throughout both of these trips, I built connections with many of the kids in the communities, and immersed myself in their cultures. Even though so many of them lived in such poor conditions, everyone was so welcoming, and eager for us to help make a change in their community. This experience for me was not only life changing and eye opening, but also probably the most rewarding trip I will ever take. 

All donations given not only go towards my expenses to travel to Guatemala, they also go towards the building supplies, hiring workers while being there, and any other fundraising we need to fully complete our project. I need to reach a total of $2,500 by November, and $4,000 by February. All donations are tax deductible,
