Jade Class (5-7 years): Opening Doors of Opportunity

Our Jade class is learning that school opens doors to amazing discoveries every day! This fall, they're building friendships while exploring letters and sounds, creating abstract art inspired by their Taubman Museum visit, drumming and singing with Kris, and developing mindfulness skills with Jagadisha. From baking cookies and exploring the science of densities to hiking to the creek to observe seasonal ecosystem changes, gathering mint from the school garden, and learning about Native American cultures, our students are discovering the joy of learning new things together.

Whether they're practicing the "Boundary Song" to communicate respect, making friendship bracelets and pinkie promises, mastering place value and skip counting, or hosting their Amber writing buddies on the deck to sequence stories, these young learners are experiencing how collaboration and curiosity open new possibilities. Through Neighbors Helping Neighbors, our Jade class supports expanding scholarship opportunities so more families can experience this kind of rich, nurturing educational growth alongside us. We believe every child deserves the chance to unlock their curiosity, develop their skills, and build friendships in a learning environment filled with discovery.
