Under the umbrella of The Arc of South Florida, ACE Academy offers a pioneering educational experience tailored to students with disabilities from PreK through 12th grade. With a fusion of contemporary social, educational, and therapeutic philosophies, our qualified and compassionate staff provide a comprehensive curriculum that caters to the holistic development of each individual. Our friendly and nurturing learning environment ensures that every student’s social, educational, and therapeutic needs are met with care and attention. Our building located at 303 West Palm Drive in Florida City is home to ACE Academy South one of our largest schools.
Every day 270 children come to that location to get a developmentally appropriate learning experience that is individualized to meet their needs. Students enrolled also receive therapeutic services including Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy, as well as free breakfast, snacks, and lunch fostering a supportive atmosphere where every student can flourish.
Unfortunately, there is one major setback in this building. When this building was purchased and retrofitted to become a school to serve these children, the interior walls of the classrooms were not fully extended up to the ceiling. This has now become an issue with sound traveling throughout the school affecting teaching, student concentration, and overall school atmosphere. In addition, the sound can aggravate some of our students, triggering various sensitivities and causing additional problems. Addressing this issue is crucial to restoring a conducive and focused learning environment. We are requesting funds to support the project of raising the interior walls within the school so that all of the classrooms will be fully enclosed to ensure that the children attending ACE Academy South have a beneficial learning environment for all students.”
The “Quiet Spaces, Loud Achievements” campaign will allow our school to help students like Dante, Jacob, Delilah, Zion, Ramsay, Sheila, Desiree, Juliet, Ella and many more students who struggle with sensory processing on a daily basis. This project will benefit their wellbeing and improve their academic and developmental success!!
