Both Long Beach and Lauren's Legacy Scholarship foundation hold a special place in my heart. Long Beach is a city where I've grown up alongside my best friend, Lauren. Community meant so much to her, and it is such a big part of Long Beach so naturally it's also reflected in this foundation. I'm so grateful for Long Beach Gives and excited to help raise money and awareness alongside hundreds of local organizations.
Last year, we funded 6 scholarships and surpassed our goal of $5K and this year, we're hoping to double that. We're looking to raise $10K to support our programming and help grant scholarships to young Black women looking to pursue higher education.
With the constant defunding of DEI initiatives nationwide and disregard for education under this administration, young Black women need your support now more than ever. As someone who relied heavily on scholarships during college, I know how important it is to have this support and am filled with extreme gratitude to be a part of this organization.
If you’re able to give, no matter what the amount, just know that it’s going directly to those who need it. Help us keep Lauren’s legacy alive and empower this next generation who is often overlooked.
🦋 Please join me in building a legacy rooted in opportunity, equity and love.
