Hi Family and Friends,

I have the amazing opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic! This will be my first missions trip to serve in this country. I feel that this will be a special opportunity to serve and connect with a new culture as well as make meaningful friendships. Over the past decade, teams of Gordon College students have developed a relationship with La Iglesia Bautista Cristo para las Naciones, a Haitian church in the Dominican Republic. The hope is to build relationships with the community, partner with fellow brothers and sisters of Christ and learn about their unique situation as Haitian immigrants in the DR and the effect that decisions made in the U.S have on their lives.

From May 25-June 8, 2020, we will travel to the Dominican Republic to serve and learn alongside Haitians and Dominicans. We will partner with Colegio Moriah to work on construction needs, while building in recreational activities with the community throughout the week. We will have the opportunity to work with Dominicans and Haitians who are working towards cultural reconciliation and redeeming their community. In addition, we will have the opportunity to gain a broader perspective of the Dominican culture by spending the end of our trip with TIME Ministries, which seeks to share the gospel with an impoverished town outside of Santo Domingo.

As a member of Team DR, I am responsible for $2,300 to cover the cost of travel, construction materials, food and housing. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. As well as your prayer support for the country and this team.

I am so excited to see how the Lord will use His disciples to serve Him!
