Every year, Deerfield High School’s student led charity drive, School Chest, unites the Deerfield community in support of a unique philanthropic cause. We ask you to join us in support of this year’s School Chest Beneficiary, Saving tiny Hearts Society, proudly selected by the students and faculty of DHS.

Saving tiny Hearts Society raises money for grossly under-funded research for congenital heart defects. CHD is the number one birth defect worldwide, affecting over 1 million babies born every year. To put this in perspective, each year congenital heart defects take the lives of twice as many children as all forms of pediatric cancer combined. However, pediatric cancer receives five times the funding that research for CHD does. Therefore, the money to fund research for congenital heart defects is crucial to improve and save the lives of countless children.
