The Windsor Vermont Historical Association (WVHA) wishes you and yours
a safe and happy holiday season! It is news to no one that the year 2020
has not gone as planned, a historic year by all accounts that will be reflected
upon for generations to come. Despite its challenges, our small organization
forged ahead, meeting virtually, and weather permitting, outside at a safe
distance, one part a discussion regarding our future plans, and an equal part
comforting one another as we pushed through yet another month under our
strange new circumstances. While we made the difficult decision to cancel
many of our featured events for 2020, among them our 2nd Annual Wine Walk
through Windsor History and our suffrage speaker marking the centennial of
the passage of the 19th Amendment, our work continued, both in anticipation
of when gatherings could again resume, and in trying to identify other means
to maintain our connection with the community. Regarding the latter, we
have been preparing a self-guided walking tour through Windsor that
features some lesser known stops that we are excited to roll-out in the
Spring of 2021. As previously noted, many of the fundraising events that
we rely on had to be canceled this past year. While we acknowledge
the hardship that 2020 has caused for so many, we have the good
fortune of being part of a resilient and supportive community. It is with the
spirit of the Windsor community in mind that we humbly ask for any contribution
that you can make to WVHA this Giving Tuesday, December 1st.
