I am raising money for Noah this year. The money will go directly to 4 Paws for Ability. Noah is getting older. He wanders, he has a lot of fears and anxiety. I try my best everyday to soothe him and help him. I have looked into a service dog and feel now is the time. A service dog would help Noah greatly with his fears, wandering, help calming him down during meltdowns and transitions. This and other challenges that Noah faces on a daily basis could improve with the help of an autism assistance dog. The dog would be trained for behavior disruption (touch, kisses, deep pressure, lap and nuzzle) when Noah is upset. The dog would help to keep him from hurting himself when he is having a meltdown; tethering while walking outdoors to prevent Noah from wandering away; and tracking Noah in case he gets lost or out of sight.
Noah's journey through life might look different than most kids but he is a smart boy who has a beautiful view of the world. I know every difficult aspect of his life would improve by having a four pawed friend who’d provide him with unconditional, nonjudgmental love and companionship. The cost of training and placing a service dog is about $34,000 and we are committed to raise at least $17,000 to help 4 Paws for Ability with their wonderful mission to enrich the lives of children with disabilities.
