Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Denim Reeves, and I am presently a senior at Mountain Island Charter School in Charlotte, North Carolina. I am honored to participate in the Kappa Beautillion Militaire Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte and the Charlotte Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

The Beautillion Militaire serves as a way to raise scholarship funds while helping young men build character, strengthen their leadership skills, develop positive moral and social values, and gain a strong sense of responsibility as they transition into young adulthood. Being selected to participate in this prestigious program is an honor.

Throughout high school, I have challenged myself academically while remaining involved in my school, church, workplace, and community. My activities, honors, and community involvement include:

• Maintaining A/B Honor Roll recognition
• Participating in cross country, track, and lacrosse
• Working part-time as a Crew Leader at McDonald’s
• Volunteering at the Humane Society of Charlotte
• Serving as a proud youth member of Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church

These experiences have helped me develop discipline, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and the importance of serving others.

I plan to attend college and study animal science, with the long-term goal of becoming a veterinarian. I have always had a passion for animals and want to pursue a career that will allow me to care for them and make a positive difference in their lives. Your generous gift will help me earn scholarship funds and assist with the cost of my college education.
