From Andy:
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve in Ensenada, Mexico with Oak Pointe Church in partnership with Baja Bound, coming alongside migrant families as they work toward stability and hope. This trip is about more than building homes, it’s about meeting people, listening to their stories, and offering dignity, care, and encouragement through simple acts of love. Each nail driven and wall raised represents a family gaining a safer place to rest and a reminder that they are seen and valued.
I’m especially excited to serve alongside my daughter, Kailee. She’s been on this trip before, and it means a lot to walk this experience together learning, serving, and growing side by side. Seeing the work through her eyes and following her lead in a place she already knows adds a deeper layer of purpose for me. We’re heading to Ensenada with open hands and hearts, ready to serve where we’re needed and grateful for the chance to share this meaningful experience together.
From Kailee:
I am incredibly blessed to be going on this trip, especially having the opportunity to return for a second time. This trip is not for the travel, but to serve with the compassion, humility, and the love that Jesus showed to every person He met. Being able to step outside of my comfort zone and into a community where service truly matters is something that is very important to me.
The first time I went, I remember helping build alongside families who had so little, yet offered so much joy, gratitude, and kindness. Even without sharing the same language, their smiles and willingness to receive the Good News spoke louder than words. In those moments, I realized that building these homes is not about what we give, it's about showing up with a willing heart, just as Jesus did. Returning to Ensenada is calling from the Lord and a reminder that when we serve others, we are truly serving Him.
