Food for Families SAGE Fundraiser

We need help! Please donate to the CEC for the Food for Families Program!

Our communities are stunned as we all deal with the short term and long term impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak along with all the related uncertainties. The Corvallis Environmental Center (CEC) is committed to keep our participants, families, and staff healthy and follow the recommended closures in our area. We work closely with the Corvallis School District for many of our educational programs. With the shutdown of the school district and our own preschool and outdoor learning programs we are facing some challenging times.

The Food for Families program is part of our community’s emergency food resource. Starker Arts Garden for Education is a space that provides fresh fruits and vegetables for local relief agencies including the South Corvallis Food Bank. Last year we grew and donated 12,000 pounds of food. Given the current crisis we are hoping to be able to maintain and expand this resource. We need your support as this program depends on donations, sponsorships, and grants. There is additional growing space that could be cultivated and planted now. Last fall we also installed three new hoop houses with the goal of extending the growing season and being able to offer more leafy greens during the winter months.
