My name is Ben Clark
I have been playing the Cello for 5 years.
I was successful in my audition to join the DC Youth Orchestra's tour to Italy this summer. While the festival is funding room and board, my fellow musicians and I need YOUR help to cover airfare. Please help make this trip a reality. This trip will benefit me because I will be able to play cello with many famous conductors and will be able to get better at the cello. With being part of an amazing orchestra, I am able to meet many new people and make a lot of friends. There are many life lessons that you learn from playing the cello. You learn how to manage your time and get past many hard obstacles, for example trying to get into the Senior Regional Orchestra. I love DCYOP because it is a great community with really nice people and staff. DCYOP have really helped me get better at cello. My favorite piece that we will be playing during the trip is the Romeo and Juliet - Fantasy Overture by Tchaikovsky. The piece has this very big and beautiful orchestra solo near the end of the piece. Music is important because it really helps with the brain. There are studies that show that Music gives you higher forms of thinking. Music is also a type of art that can bring out peoples view of expression. Finally, Music is life. When you start to get old, you can't play soccer or football, but you can still play an instrument or sing. Music can stay with you your entire life and make you a better person. In order to be a part of this amazing group going to Italy, all DC Youth Orchestra students must have auditioned. I had to work very hard every day and focus in order to be able to play the repertoire with DCYOP. Donating to my Razoo would really mean a lot and would help me go farther in my music career.
