Thank you for your consideration of support!
The DynamitExperience, a contemporary dance company founded in 2019 by Dynamite and partner, Latra Wilson, has been commissioned by JPAC (Jamaica Performing Arts Center, NYC), JACK Arts (NYC), EMIA’s Summer Intensive at Hofstra (NY), Dance Institute of Washington (DC); and presented at: the SHED (NYC), Re/Venue (NYC), The Mark O’Donnell Theater at The Actors Fund Theater (NYC), Manhattan Movement & Arts Center (NYC), Dance Adelphi (NY), DanceWave (NYC), Music Theater Heritage Kansas City (MO), The Dairy Arts Center (CO), among others. TDE serves as a platform for creative investigations and community engagement; the company creates work aiming to impact the local community, specifically those who generally do not see themselves represented on stage.
TDE has worked in creative residencies with the company members, hosted free community engagement workshops, and developed fruitful partnerships with prestigious institutions and organizations presenting our work annually. We've been commissioned to set original works on the Mark Morris Student Company, The Dalton School, SPENCE School, Ailey Fordham BFA program, Vassar college, Adelphi University, Manhattan Youth Ballet, Alma College, among others.
Our goal is to provide a safe and fun space for any human to contribute their thoughts and expressions about love and its weight in our experience(s).
Our Operations Manager is an individual who spent 10+ years as an Arts Administrator, transitioned to Corporate for two years to run an 8-million annual business, and decided to shift her expertise back to a non profit dance company. We are confident that with our exceptional admin team (Operations Manager, Website Developer / Social Media Manager, and Grants assistant), we will be able to proficiently facilitate all of the projects scheduled and coming.
Our dancers both collectively and individually have made a resounding impact on their respective communities and within their extensive professional careers. We believe these artists contribute well beyond what is expected of them, and what we currently are able to financially compensate them does not reflect their true value as contributing artists.
Our long time-dream is an annual budget of around $250,000. This would allow for an Administrative team of 5 working year-round, 12 dancers working a 25-week contract each year at a reasonable rate of $25/hour, and a production budget to produce 2-3 shows annually and include community collaborators (musicians, filmmakers, etc.).
Your help breaks down as such:
A monthly donation of $50: allows us to properly archive our high quality media!
A donation of $100: covers the average cost of studio rental space
A one-time donation of $300: covers one dancers’ fee for a small performance (including the week of rehearsals leading up to the show)
A one-time donation of $500: covers Marketing & Development expenses (social media, residency applications, etc.)
A monthly donation of $1,000 covers: administrative expenses, allowing our admin team to build the infrastructure of our company, apply for small grants that will cover the cost of some upcoming creative bookings, and implement systems that will help TDE run efficiently as it grows.
An annual donation of $5,000 supports the production of an evening presentation (artists, technical, venue, and all!).
Thank you for any support you can consider.
