Welcome to the fundraising page for Academics for Black Survival and Wellness. If you are new to #Academics4BlackLives (A4BL) please check out our website (www.academics4Blacklives.com) and social media (@academics4Blacklives on Instagram and @academics4BSW on Twitter) to see the work we have been doing in the interest of Black survival and wellness since summer of 2020. Thanks to your contributions to date, we have provided training and healing services to nearly 20,000 folx.

The murders of Ma'Khia Bryant, Breonna Taylor, Nina Pop, George Floyd, Brayla Stone, Ahmaud Arbery, Oluwatoyin Salau, and many others have sparked an international outcry to protect Black lives and address anti-Black racism. The purpose of this initiative is to urgently and critically intervene against anti-Black racism and other forms of white supremacy as it manifests in academia and, in turn, enhance the safety and wellness of Black students, staff, faculty, and community members.

Academics for Black Survival and Wellness is an initiative started by a Black doctoral candidate (Pearis Bellamy) and her advisor (Dr. Della V. Mosley) to facilitate personal and professional development for non-Black academics in hopes of providing Black people with the proactive allies/accomplices they deserve and an opportunity for Black people to practice wellness and resistance. Guided by Black feminism, this intensive training for non-Black people, along with the virtual wellness workshop provided to Black people, has been a labor of love from the Academics for Black Survival and Wellness collective.

Contributing here at this stage in the campaign means you are donating to support the infrastructure, our new platform for accessing the trainings and wellness workshops, tech support, accessibility services and the like.

Thank you for supporting our efforts during this time.
