The COVID 19 pandemic has cast a dark shadow over the world for much of 2020. This year, REACH Georgia offers our donors a chance to drive out COVID-19's darkness - to be the light- for academically promising students, for families that face financial challenges funding their student's postsecondary education, and for low-wealth communities that are struggling with the impact of COVID 19. Your gift will allow these Georgians to focus on a future that is bright amid the uncertainty today currently holds.

How can you be the light during this giving season? For Giving Day 2020, REACH Georgia invites you to invest in our goal of raising $10,000 to fund ten (10) REACH scholarships of $10,000 each, to be awarded to  ten academically promising 8th graders. The enrolled scholars are selected by their local community following a rigorous application process. Upon graduation from high school with a 2.5 HOPE-weighted GPA, and admission and enrollment in a HOPE-eligible postsecondary institution, the REACH Scholar will have $2,500 per year for up to four years of postsecondary study. While those graduation dates are years away, they promise the future normalcy we all desire.

This year, your gift will support one of ten communities across the state that have experienced extraordinary challenge during the pandemic. Through your support, these communities, primarily located in rural Georgia, will know that people across Georgia are rallying to support children in distant communities. In these days of disconnection, your gift  binds us together.

Your gift today will also provide renewable economic light for this century. The lifetime earnings of each new four-year college graduate will increase Georgia’s gross domestic product by almost $2 million, according to a new study from the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia. Your gift not only lifts educational attainment in Georgia, but it also helps fuel the state's economic engine.

Increase the impact of your gift. For each dollar that you donate, the REACH Georgia Foundation will contribute an additional nine dollars.  Gift(s) totaling $1,000 will be matched with $9,000 to fully fund a new REACH Scholarship.
