Young, pregnant Loretta was heartlessly dumped at the coal mines. Without the kindness of the miners there feeding and taking care of her whenever they could, it is unlikely that she would still be here. Unfortunately, at only one years old, she gave birth early to her five pups, and the miners enlisted animal control to rescue her, fearing that Loretta and her puppies would not be able to survive any longer on their own. Now, 30-pound Loretta and her five one-week-old puppies are stuck at a rural shelter and are in dire need of a healthier, cozier environment to rest, gain strength, and grow.
