Abbey Turtinen's Hike to END the Neglect!

I joined the END Fund in July of 2014. Now I am inspired to take on the personal challenge of summiting all 19,341 feet of Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise funds and awareness for the 1.5 billion people living with NTDs. 

Two years ago, I spent the summer working in Malawi and I saw first hand how lack of access to health care affects people and the community. This ignited by dedication to work in global health.

The END Fund works with local Ministries of Health and implementing partners to control and eliminate NTDs. Low-cost treatments for NTDs have shown to dramatically increase school attendance, improve health and well-being, and increase access to economic opportunities over time.

Similarly, conquering Mt. Kilimanjaro takes the same qualities as controlling and eliminating NTDs, we need dedication and collaboration.
