Morocco Back to School Fundraiser

We are currently fundraising for the 2019 school year. $10,500USD pays for two full time teachers, one half time teacher, two part time English language teachers and all of the education program materials and utilities for the community centers.

Our students continue to have the highest test scores in their province. In 2012, when we started our education initiative, the students in the region had the lowest test scores of the entire province. Your support is making a significant difference in education. 

The Atlas Cultural Foundation elementary school tutoring program provides free tutoring to all pre-K and elementary school students in a remote region of the Atlas Mountains. It also provides English language lessons for middle school students, local adults, Moroccan mountain guides, guest house owners, government teachers and government employees.

More than 200 students attend the program six days per week and ten months a year. The primary goal of this program is to supplement the education provided by the Moroccan government and collaborate with the government teachers to help them improve the test scores of the local students. The program also provides extracurricular activities such as art, music, and field trips and exposure to native English speakers.

ACF started the program in the spring of 2012 with one teacher in one village. The program had immediate success and by August of 2013 the program was expanded to two teachers in two villages. Since the program's inception, the villages have seen an increase in student attendance and test scores.
