"When I first joined TONYC, I did it for the love of theatre but then I found out that I could use theatre to help my community make meaningful change." - Deborah Hall, Actor, Concrete Justice Troupe

Hi Everyone,

We are TONYC's Actors Advisory Board and this year we are also "Catalysts" for Theatre of the Oppressed NYC (TONYC), an organization through which we are part of important work to open people's minds and help eradicate  the criminalization of homelessness using theatre. Being a Catalyst means inspiring 10 or more friends to donate $10 or more towards TONYC’s Creative Advocacy and Legislative Theatre as part of our 2019 Represent 10x10 campaign, from May 6th to May 15th.

Just like in our forum plays, The Actors Advisory Board brainstorms new solutions to bring our community of actors together and hold TONYC accountable to carrying out their mission.  We formulate action steps to create change within this organization that furthers the work that impacts New Yorkers like us.

At our Legislative Theatre and Creative Advocacy events, we develop policy ideas and vote on them. Now, more than ever, it’s time to show our officials that the people run the government. Check out TONYC’s work at www.tonyc.nyc, and please support us by giving $10 today!

If you prefer not to give online, you can also send a check in the mail to: Theatre of the Oppressed NYC, 758 Eighth Avenue, Suite 300, New York, NY 10036. (Please include a check memo to say that you’re sponsoring Actors Advisory and also shoot us an email at elizabeth@tonyc.nyc so we know it’s on the way.)
