Adam Aist - Living Classrooms 2020 Rising Star

Welcome to my Rising Stars 2020 Fundraising page!  

Thirty-five years ago, Living Classrooms began delivering hands-on education in Baltimore using maritime resources as "living classrooms." Since that time, they have developed dozens of innovative programs to meet the ever-changing needs of children, youth, and adults in our community. Twenty years ago a need was identified within Wards 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Washington, DC, and they were asked to bring their education and workforce development programs to residents of the National Capital Region. Living Classrooms has developed a distinctive competency in experiential learning or “learning by doing.”  They utilize their environmental campuses, athletic fields, community centers, and historic ships as “living classrooms.

In 2020, our cities are facing their biggest challenges yet, and during these difficult times Living Classrooms' commitment to serving children, adults, and families has not wavered. Please support me by making a contribution to Living Classrooms Foundation. The theme of our 2020 campaign is "All Hands on Deck," which celebrates Living Classrooms' philosophy of hands-on learning and maritime roots, and more importantly, is a direct call to action from our cities' residents who are most susceptible to the negative effects of the pandemic. We know that creating a better Baltimore and Washington, DC requires many hands and we need your support to fulfill our mission and help our communities become safer, stronger, and healthier. We need #AllHandsOnDeck for a brighter future!
